Finally! After many delays, I was finally able to release Neon Lightning Force version 1.5.
If you’re not familiar with this new version, you can check out the previous post where I explain why I decided to create it xd.
New Features and Changes
Here’s a list of the improvements and changes successfully implemented in this new version:
- Redesigned levels with more vibrant and animated backgrounds.
- Character balance has been improved, allowing the game to be comfortably completed with any playable character.
- More than 15 weapon types are now available for both players and enemies (yes, enemies can use weapons now too).
- Boss battles are more intense and strategic (no more enemies with ridiculously huge health bars xd).
- New animations for enemies, NPCs, and playable characters.
- Steven now has a wider variety of combat moves.
- The motorcycle Bonus Stage has been improved.
- And many more changes that you’ll discover once you download and dive into the game 😀.

Happy 10th Anniversary, Neon Lightning Force
Yes, this project has now been online for 10 years.
More than creating a sequel, I always had the feeling that I wanted to do things better with this game. I thought it would take only a short time, but I’ve been announcing its release since 2023 x.x.
At one point, I honestly thought I would never finish it. Instead of a simple update, it became something much closer to creating a whole new game or a remake.
But Neon Lightning Force version 1.5 contains everything I’ve learned about OpenBOR up to this point.
There may still be some hidden bugs (hopefully not too serious) that I missed, but what I can confidently say is that Neon Lightning Force is fully playable from beginning to end.
The good thing is that I learned so much from OpenBOR during this process that I now feel capable of fixing the bugs that still exist in Silver Night’s Crusaders (yes, I’ll talk about that project another time xd).
For now, what I’d really like to do is return to the project I put on hold: Fuerza Carmesí, the Final Fantasy-style RPG that entered hiatus while I focused on finishing Neon Lightning Force.
For now, I simply hope you enjoy this new version.
